Lately a lot has been written about Gen Y. Today’s newspaper has yet another article on the demanding Gen Y.
Really, are we being too over analytical? Or are we, the Baby Boomers and Gen X, simply reluctant to let go of our control. As always our focus is on the “me” – I am used to working in a specific way – the rest of the world had better fall in line with me – after all I have been around for a few decades – surely I know the best!
How Limiting! What a lost opportunity because of the “me” focus!
Every person is unique and therefore has something to contribute. The art is in being open to their ideas. As a plant grows, it needs fertilisers to survive. Without the replenishing of food, the plant will shrivel and die …. Much like our world – without new ideas, there is no innovation.
About time we stopped beating the gen Ys down. About time we took responsibility for ourselves – is it the gen Y that is at fault, or is it we who are stuck in our ways – blocking innovation and growth?
