The Power of SELF!

There was once a little girl. She was bubbly and full of life! She did not care what people thought about her – she just had fun – spoke her mind, did her thing … lived and enjoyed life.

Her parents worried about her. What would people think about her – such an independent thinking, sometimes stubborn girl would surely get into trouble if she did not learn to conform.

Over a period of time, her parents taught her the ways of a lady. Ladies spoke softly; they waited their turn before speaking; they did not jump around singing loudly; they did not voice their opinion; they did not talk back. They did not argue their point, even when they know they are right.

The little spirited girl who loved her parents, believed in them and tried very hard to be who they wanted her to be. But it was very hard to kill her natural instincts, so she was constantly getting into trouble with her parents. Soon the little girl realised that she would never be good enough. She lost all her confidence. If somebody paid her a compliment, she felt overwhelmed and felt this person was very kind. She wanted to keep pleasing this person – because finally here was somebody who thought that she was something! She needed his approval to survive.

When this person became mean to her, it tore her apart because she felt it was her fault – she had done something wrong. Because after all she was the person who was the good for nothing – she was the person who had been unable to please her parents. It was always her fault. She would apologise and make it better for the person because in her mind she was at fault. Unknowingly, she kept giving up all her power to this person till she became a nobody.

Reset!

There was once a little girl. She was bubbly and full of life! She did not care what people thought about her – she just had fun – spoke her mind, did her thing … lived and enjoyed life.

Her parents were very proud of her, because deep inside they knew that this was the way of leaders. This is exactly the attributes that would make her successful one day.

Over a period of time, her parents taught her the ways of a leader. How to use her strengths as a gift and still be humble. They taught her problem solving. She learnt that she had all the power she needed, if she looked in the right direction. The little girl grew up secure, at peace with herself. She knew who she was – what she was good at and where she needed to improve. She was secure and confident enough to ask for help when she needed. She learnt to use her gifts to grow herself and grow others. People saw her as a natural leader. They felt comfortable to be around her and take guidance from her. They helped her grow in return. She skyrocketed in whatever she chose to do!

She knew the power of SELF!
